TIME: All sessions will be held from 8:30am-2:30pm, LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED
WHERE: All sessions EXCEPT THE SEPTEMBER 12TH MAKE-UP will take place at Teachers Academy for Math & Science (TAMS, 501 W. 35th Street). The September 12th make-up session will be held at 320 N. Elizabeth Street, 2nd floor.
WHAT: Are you a new teacher in Chicago Public Schools and new to the teaching profession? The Chicago New Teacher Center will kick off your year-long induction experience with a two-day summer orientation that focuses on the challenges and rewards of working in an urban setting. You will start to build a network with your new colleagues as you deepen your understanding of the students you will meet, and begin planning for the creation of a classroom community. You will also receive an overview of all the supports you will receive throughout the year.
Please note: If you are new to teaching, participation in the New Teacher Summer Academy is considered a pre-employment condition fo accepting a position with CPS. Participants will not be compensated for their attendance
